This is a real solid bronze hand-crafted double sided antique finish pendant. Aegishjalmur, or the Helm of Awe, is an Icelandic magical symbol of protection, also called stave, which has the power to induce fear and to protect against abuse of power. Early Vikings used to inscribe it on the forehead between the eyes. Aegishjalmur's main purpose was to protect and dominate in battle and also to instill fear and conquer fear in own mind.
Futhark, or runic alphabet, goes around the pendant. The runic alphabet is a collection of magical symbols. The runes have names, phonetic and magical meanings. The Uruz rune is enlarged in the center top which serves as the bail of the pendant.
The pendant is the same on both sides. The genuine leather pendant is stamp embossed and resembles the texture of natural wood. It is is made of very thick and tough leather used to make shoe soles. It can be removed if needed and the bronze pendant can be worn on its own.
Bronze pendant diameter is 1.3" inches or 32 mm. The bronze pendant is ox finished for antique look. The pendant comes on a brown waxed cotton cord.
► Optionally, you can add the genuine handmade leather pouch stitched with a natural hemp cord. It makes a nice gift case for the pendant.
